No....

11 December, the day she said her first "No".

She knew how to say "Yes" and for a while she could not quite say "No".

It was just cute watching her wave her little hands n shake her head.

But she has since figured out how to articulate it.

It started with my choice of clothes for her. She went, "no no no no no". All the while shaking her head.

Such a cute sight. I would have acceded to her choice if fashion except that she wanted to wear her swimsuit.

So it was my turn to go "no no no no no".

Gong Gong

Gong Gong is hamie's maternal grandfather.

The first time she managed to call him, it made all of us laugh.

Besides the joy at hearing her say a new word, it set off peals of laughter from the rest of us .

Her version of Gong Gong is a low gutteral sound made deep in her throat n only brought forth by much pursing of the lips.

Now, she is proficent at it. Still a cute little sound but more natural.

In fact, everone was Gong Gong during the past weekend

Bliss

The night is quiet.

DH and Babe are soundly asleep.

Internet and a glass of cool Reisling.

Can't think of a more relaxing way to unwind.

Boyfriends?!!

She met a boy yesterday and within a minute of meeting him, she was hugging him tightly and waving goodbye to her daddy.

Her head was tucked into the crook of his neck and her arms were wound tightly around him.

As the little boy's mum aptly put it: "Its ok AT THIS AGE."

Yep, only at this age.

I wonder if this is a sign of things to come.

Full of SHIT

The diaper that is....

It was soooo full that it just fell off her.

And this all happened in the middle of Paragon Shopping Centre. Thank goodness it wasnt me with her but the Daddy ;p

Rainy Mornings

Rainy mornings are best spent with a cup of coffee, bread, papers with Kyoto Cafe playing in the background.

A blankie

I have just started knitting a blankie for Hamie.

As with many other projects, they remain an UFO for a long long time. So, i am putting this down as a reminder that i HAVE to complete this.

But as it is, i have run into some teething problems. It is huge!

I have lost count timeless times and am contemplating redoing everything.

I think i shall go work on it now.

Here is a picture of the little girl whom i am doing it all for:

Toddlerling

I can remember exactly when she took her first steps but she is definitely toddlerling along now.

It was probably 3 weeks ago. She turned to catch a toy and took a few tentative steps.

In the short period of a few weeks she has progressed to taking an inital wobbly 5, then 10, and now maybe 20-30 steps.

It's really a simple thing to an adult, but such a big thing to a little child. Her eyes and face lights up as she makes her way across the room. And as i look at her walking towards me, my heart swells with pride.

It was a good weekend.

It was a public holiday on Friday and Baby and Mummy woke early, walked to Grandparents place and had woke them up. This was followed by breakfast and going through Grandpa's photos of his recent trip to Everest.

Then Baby Charmaine was off to her paternal Grandma for the day. Mummy spent the day catching up with friends while DaddyHam spent the day chilling.

Saturday was spent shopping and Baby's loot were some rompers, lots of food from Pigeon, a nice yellow bucket and a pair of yellow sandals to match her bucket. Mummy's bought shorts. capris and a pair of shoes. Daddy didnt fare too badly with a new TV drama series.

Had a relaxing lunch on Sunday after class. Also reached home early and Hamie and Daddy had a good time playing on the grass with her favourite balls.

Love weekends!

13 Months

My sweetie is 13 months old today!

And her darling daddy is catching on to the idea that the princess deserves a present every month. So while waiting for me, he drove all the way to a shopping center to pick out a gift for her.

With this kind of love, it isn't surprising that the little one is willing to sit quietly while her daddy ties up her hair for her. He fusses over her, making sure that all strands are neatly tied up or tucked and pinned up. Such an adoring daddy.

Tears...

A good friend is going through a breakup.

Given the situation and circumstances, she is more than justified to scream, shout and slime her ex.

But she chooses to let go in as dignified a manner as she can. She's holding back from unleashing her sadness and sorrow and instead struggles to make baby steps to close this chapter in her life and move on.

My heart bleeds for her.

Something New

Another new hobby.

I've resisted for far too long.

Chances that i would actually complete something is slightly higher since i'll be taking a course with Yin and Zee.

Cant wait!

Tiny Tentative First Step

She was distracted. She was trying hard to reach for her toy so she let go of her grip and took her first baby tottering step.

Then she promptly grabbed her toy and lowered herself gently to the floor. That was such a cautious move, such a direct contrast to her character.

Every small milestone she reaches makes me so glad and thankful.

Thankful that she is healthy, thankful for the joy and laughter she has brought to us.

Good Morning Song

This morning, as I was singing her Good Morning song to her, she started clapping and waving her hands :)

Made my day!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Darling!

You have brought so much joy and laughter into MummyHam and DaddyHam's lives.

Whenever we look at you, we constantly amazed at how much God has blessed and entrusted us with.

A child's laughter and smile is indeed wonderful and marvellous.

Yicky? Yummy?

Her reaction to food cracks me up.

From her plate, its yicky.

From our plate, its YUMMY!

So we have to pretend to feed her our food and slip her food into her open mouth while she is still focused on our food. A few turns of this and she wises up.

So she's shaking her head violently as we try to feed her. She suddenly realises that its our spoon that is being offered to her instead of her own. She stops mid-shake n eyes the food out of the corner of her eyes.

It only takes her a split second to realise that this time its not a trick and that we are really offering her our food. Her mouth immediately opens wide... just like a hippopotamus.

CNY Eve

Hamie's a real trooper! Since DaddyHam had his standing appointment with the guys on the eve of CNY, I brought her along with me to the nursery.

And since the trip to the nursery was only after reunion dinner, it was way past her bedtime. But she was a real darling. No fuss, no tantrums, no crankiness. She was excited to be out and about, curious about her surroundings and just happy and friendly to everyone she met.

We were really late this year and by the time we got to Siglap, only Macdonalds was still open. No choice, it was her first visit to Macs

Flashback to one year ago, I was there with the same group of friends. I was then 7 months pregnant with Hamie.

This year, I am there with my 9 month old daughter who was super awake at 2am. She was excitedly chatting with my friends, bouncing on their laps and generally have a whale of a time.

She finally zonked at 230am. I was pushing her in her stroller and she let out a cry. Thereafter she was in La-La_land.
